  • A for ADA Cryptoalphabet 4 children

    Rated 0 out of 5

    from:

    Ideascale link

    Challenge question :

How to increase general awareness about Cardano and cryptocurrencies?

How to make fun community-building incentives?

    Why is it important?

The earlier to start financial education – the better it will be in the long-term.

Cryptoalphabet – community-created Alphabet for children

    How does success look like?

As community defines it. I.e. If the general awareness will increase, and there will be high demand for “Cryptoalphabet”

    Key Metrics to measure

    – Number of people engaged into the creation of Cryptoalphabet

    – Number of people interested in getting this book

    – Number of book sales outside of Cardano community

    – Number of books sales outside the crypto space

    – Number of popular media who covered this story

    – The revenue generated by the book sales

    Challenge brief

    A for ADA

    B for Bitcoin

The community-driven effort of creating the crypto-alphabet for the children. The community will vote and express an opinion, volunteer to create rhymes for particular letters and drawings.

We all agree is that A is for Ada, B for Bitcoin, But D might be for Dash or Decred?

H might be for Horizen or Holochain

    T for Tezos or Telos

What letter to choose? Let the community decide.

Either by voting or “supporting” a particular letter, the community can decide. I.e. if some of you want Horizen to “win” the letter H – then you can send any amount of ADA to the project’s address. Then if suddenly Hedera Hashgraph fan appears and start competing with you – the competition to the letter might continue for hundreds or thousands of ADA.

This crypto-alphabet will be published as Book and distributed for all of the community – first of all, those who take an active part in Project Catalyst. Then as presents to different Cardano meetup attendees, future conferences, and summits, but also it will be sold both as digital and as a paperback. As this project is applying for treasure funds, so the potential profits will be used to rewards active participants of the book creation, additional creation of book supplies, and maybe reserve fund for future activities. I know a publisher who agreed to do this project in my country, and have also their distribution network – so also the book will be sold for people outside of crypto area, which is good as it brings additional brand awareness and potential adoption.

There are 2 option for illustrations:

    1. Children will draw the illustrations, first of all children of people from Cardano ecosystem, but it can go further to other communities

    2. We’ll find a designer (it’s not a problem, when the text is ready, each letter – represents each crypto, so it won’t be hard for designer to draw illustration based on it). Maybe the designer from community will be willing to join this project.

I’m putting the budget of $4800 USD which will be enough to print 2000 copies of book (well, maybe we should print more) and rewarding all the people who contributed (designers, text creator) and book shipping costs

Many aspects of the process are up for the community to decide

  • ADA Epoch Clock

    Rated 0 out of 5

    from:

    Ideascale link

    Challenge question :

How do we increase engagement, user experience, functionality, decentralization, and simplicity within the Cardano ecosystem?

    Why is it important?

It is important for widespread adoption, ongoing network support, creating autonomy especially for the unbanked, and creating Cardano buzz!

    How does success look like?

Success looks like unbanked people being able to use their one-stop-shop ADA Epoch Clock! A portal that provides time, payment, wifi & more!

    Key Metrics to measure

There are many metrics to measure: Connectivity to the internet. Accurate readings of atomic time, ADA Epoch time, Block number, alternate time where the staking pool may be, and current price of ADA. Contactless payment usage. Hype and demand around the product. Energy production and use. Ease of use. Micro pool delegation, voting, and staking node. The way it has been seamlessly incorporated into everyday life as though it had always been there. Classic quality and a beautiful piece of art.

    Challenge brief

The challenge is to create the ADA Epoch Clock. This clock will revolutionize our day to day activities and for billions that are currently unbanked provide a way to be autonomous and take control of finances, assets, and voting. The main challenge is to fit all the core components of the clock into a compact, durable, and lightweight form. Part of the challenge is internet connectivity. Each clock will act as a receiver and booster for its local area. Each clock will have very small solar panels that can also provide enough power to charge devices such as cell phones.

Here are the features of the ADA Epoch Clock:

    * Standard Atomic Clock

    * Epoch Clock and Block Height

    * ADA Current Currency Price

    * Number of ADA in Circulation

    * At least one Photon Solar Cell (like Yanko Design or built in-house) or two or three to power clock and charge additional cell phones too – can have an AC plug to the wall too.

    * An appealing round orb with embossed Cardano logo and each of the six central circles has removable and upgradeable components to use as the blockchain evolves.

    * Each clock could also have a:

    – microstakepool – perhaps in microlaces 1/10 or 1/3 of a lovelace

    – Inbuilt Interoperable currency converter and tap payment function w inbuilt NFC tag reader

    – Inbuilt Daedalus wallet

These are some of the functional ideas for the ADA Epoch Clock.

  • Atala PRISM DID Mass-Scale Adoption

    Rated 0 out of 5

    from:  rich

    Ideascale link

    Challenge question :

What will drive mass-scale adoption of decentralized IDs on Cardano?

    Why is it important?

Atala PRISM DID is a gateway to the Cardano blockchain and ecosystem. Building technology and marketecture that on-boards users is crucial.

    How does success look like?

Many high quality ideas will be proposed that can substantially grow Cardano’s user-base, network-utility, network-value & ADA circulation.

    Key Metrics to measure

    * The number of proposals that directly address mass-scale adoption in a quantifiable manner.

    * The quality of proposals measured by community chosen metrics.

    * Results of any Fund5 funded projects significantly impacting mass-scale adoption of DID’s and their utility on the Cardano blockchain.

    Challenge brief

Since this is about a challenge and not a proposal, I think some collaboration and idea exchange on how best to frame this is an important consideration in the process with community engagement. My first pass is something like this:

    CHALLENGE:

Propose a means or way to drive mass-scale adoption of Atala PRISM DID as an easy-to-use onramp to the Cardano ecosystem. This can include any method that will offer users or entities a decentralized ID to start defining their digital self-sovereignty. Think about how this is implemented at scale drawing millions of users, who once onboard can become customers for dApps, tools, DeFi and other services.

NOTE: Please help refine this, it works better when we all have input! If anyone is truly passionate about htis and wants to be a co-submitter, let me know. – Rich

    Challenge question :

The existence of Bitcoin is just being discovered by the general public, it is our duty to make ourselves known at such a crucial time.

    Why is it important?

Cryptocurrencies carry with them a lot of stigma and fear. We as a community need to address that through marketing.

    How does success look like?

    Recognition by the mainstream media

    Key Metrics to measure

The increasing number of members on our platforms (Reddit, Discord, Telegram, Twitter, etc)

Increasing the number of google searches

    Challenge brief

I’d like to invest some money into social media advertisements to kick off with. If this is successful we will expand to more high yield platforms. • Capturing the potential of the PoS decentralized protocol

    Rated 0 out of 5

    from:  Alexander Watanabe

    Challenge question :

I got started mining BTC back in November 2013, back when small operators could still *kind of* compete against bigger players using frankenstein multi-gpu setups. I lost interest in BTC as it became clear that industrialized setups were necessary to stay competitive, and that lead to centralization.

I got reinvigorated in crypto when reading Cardano in 2020, as having been away from the scene for a long time, it was exciting to see that PoS was not just an idea but actually coming online. It’s still amazing to me that this network is alive and running, and I want to figure out a way for delegators to fully appreciate just how special this network is in terms of what it allows for decentralization. To that end, I’ve begun working on a site for visualizing the networks geospatial and economic properties.

I’d like to further develop this, possibly by mapping competing blockchains into it, to show how strong and unique Cardano is.

    Challenge question :

Maximizing the profit for pool operators and delegators on basis of better insights.

    Why is it important?

Existing solutions are overwhelming with information about the whole ecosystem instead of focusing on the pool.

    How does success look like?

We consider the solution successful in case we have acquired the majority of the stake pools (1000) and delegators using it on a daily basis

    Key Metrics to measure

The success of the project can be measured by the number of downloads of the app, end-users in the app, the information being looked up and the searches being made by end-users.

    Challenge brief

We run a stake pool called ADA4Profit where we want to provide the best value to delegators.

    • The solution will assist pool operators with insights and how they can improve their pool performance.
    • The solution will assist delegators to find the best pool for maximizing their rewards on delegation.
    • We plan to be open and transparent about what we do and what value we provide and aim to co-exist next to the other awesome solutions built by other community members.
    • The solution will be web and app based

First phase web based version, collect feedback from the community and improve.

Second phase mobile app version, collect feedback from the community and improve.

We think there is space for a better focused solution and this will also avoid monopolies in the community.

  • Cardano in Spanish

    Rated 0 out of 5

    from:

    Ideascale link

    Challenge question :

How to solve the lack of Spanish content for the Cardano Project issue?

    Why is it important?

Hispanic Cardano community is the second in size and growing fast. Nevertheless, no official Spanish content is yet being published.

    How does success look like?

Continue growing the Cardano Hispanic community

    Key Metrics to measure

    • Number of subscribers to the Cardano Castellano Youtube channel
    • Number of visits
    • Number of watched hours
    • Number of subscribers to the Cardano Castellano Odysee channel
    • Number of visits
    • Number of subscribers to the official and community driven Hispanic Telegram channels
    • Number of views for Spanish content in the Cardano Forum
    Challenge brief

The plan is to get funded and continue with the work already being done since + 1 year ago (transcription + dubbing + editing + publishing)

Provide Hispanic community with relevant educational materials and keep it updated with the latest news and releases of the Cardano ecosystem. Most translated content comes from Charles Hoskinson, IOHK, Emurgo, Cardano Foundation and The Cardano Effect youtube channels.

Hispanic community consists of +20 countries. Providing Cardano Spanish content is relevant not only for the current community but also for all the future Hispanic members that will be onboarding the Cardano ecosystem, content will be already available for them in the years to come. Making a stronger Hispanic Cardano community means making a stronger worldwide Cardano community.

Total transcripted words in Spanish should be close to one million now, even the English language doesn’t have this “asset”. Processing them through a translator (like Deepl) could produce a quite accurate version of the transcriptions in additional languages (French, Portuguese, etc). Several other languages could produce a similar output with significantly less budget and work load basing their work in the already available Spanish transcriptions.

    Budget:

As per content for being published in Spanish a transcription it’s first required, which is by far the most time consuming task. Current average transcripted words per month is around 85k. Budget is based on 60k transcripted words per month, any quantity above that will be included in the same budget, meaning that no increase in budget will be required.

Budget per word is $0.017 (this includes transcription, dubbing, editing, publishing)

    Monthly: 60k words x $0.017 = $1,020

    x 6 months = $6,120

    Relevant experience

    + 700 published videos (Youtube & Odysee)

    +2.3k Subscribers

    +190k Total Views

    +17k Total Watch time (hours)

    Youtube Channel Link: https://www.youtube.com/c/CardanoCastellano

    Auditability:

All published video materials can be checked through the Youtube and LBRY channels. Each video has its respective transcription published in the Cardano Forum. A biweekly report will be submitted informing about the published content with the number of transcripted words. Length of videos solemnly depends on the original material, on average, 60k translated words per month should represent around 375 mins of video.

    Experiencia relevante:

    + 700 videos publicados (Youtube & LBRY)

    +2.3k Suscriptores

    +190k Total de visitas

+17k Tiempo total de reproducción (horas)

    Enlace al Canal Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/c/CardanoCastellano

    Auditabilidad:

    From:

    Ideascale link

    Challenge question :

    Hi everybody,

I will travel to East Europe this year and would like stick on as many Cardano stickers in different places as possible.

    Why is it important?

It’s important because a lot of people will see Cardano stickers and eventually research it. Especially in East Europe adoption is needed.

    How does success look like?

It’s hard to measure success here, but hundreds of thousands of people will see the Cardano logo regularly which could lead to more adoption

    Key Metrics to measure

How many people will see the stickers? I would buy 2000-3000 stickers and affix them in all sorts of cities. Not only in East Europe, but also in my hometown Hamburg, Germany; I also know lots of people travelling, who would be willing to help me stick them on in different parts of the world. I would affix them in areas where many people live and also where it’s relevant (for example before banks or in crowded areas).

Very roughly (and probably even conservatively) maybe 100 to 200 different people will see one sticker; With 3000 stickers that would be 300.000-600.000 people. Let’s just say that 1% will be interested in Cardano after doing some fast Google research. That would still be roughly 5.000 people. And again, I think these numbers will probably even be much higher.

Why East Europe is good for some more marketing: a lot of people are underbanked there and would probably find Cardanos ideas very interesting (and hopefully also practical when DEFI on Cardano is possible).

    Challenge brief

I would probably print a very basic Cardano logo with the name “Cardano” besides it. Like on the Cardano Wikipedia page. So everyone will understand it and not knowing what it means will hopefully spark curiosity…

Also, I would make a video where you can see the Cardano stickers in some cool (and famous) locations and photograph all affixed stickers, so you know that I have actually done the job :)

Thanks a lot for reading :)

By the way, I am 18 years old and have been following Cardano very closely since beginning of 2018. I just love the vision and the community. That’s why I would love to contribute a little bit to Cardanos success :)

    Challenge question :

How do we tell the world about the new world financial operating system in the most impactful manner?

    Why is it important?

If Cardano is going to change the world, the world needs to know of Cardano. Marketing to the general public has thus far been non-existent.

    How does success look like?

Mass adoption of the Cardano protocol by the general public.

    Key Metrics to measure

    Cardano search phrase metrics.

    Increase in wallet creation.

    More ADA bought and staked.

    Challenge brief

Cardano needs a defining moment, something similar to the “1984” Super Bowl commercial announcing the release of the Apple Macintosh. The “Trust Cardano” campaign will coincide with the release of Goguen.

The BIG problem is that trust, in our institutions, in our media, in each other, has been broken.

The issue is TRUST. We tell people they can trust Cardano. We give people hope.

I have written the script and am looking for someone to produce it. The funding would go toward the making of the 30 second commercial. As this may be a substantial cost, I propose that the cost of the airing of the commercial would be voted upon separately in fund 6.

In addition, a powerful, Oscar-grade commercial entirely produced by the community and funded by Catalyst would be a great venue through which to showcase the Catalyst project itself. Essentially we can market Cardano (via the commercial itself) and Catalyst (talking about the commercial via crypto podcasts/You Tubers), giving us more marketing bang for our buck.

How to get the wallet downloaded around the world and meet a global community localization standards?

    Why is it important?

The Cardano might not be considered for many as a global product if it’s website is not Language Localized in various languages.

    How does success look like?

Cardano and Daedalus Wallet Website content is Localized at least as much as Cardano’s competition (e.g. Ethereum localized in 33 languages)

  • Coalitions & Associations Challenge

    Rated 0 out of 5

    from:

    Ideascale link

    Challenge question :

Is there an issue you care about that you would like to coordinate the community on?

    Why is it important?

Emancipation in the long run, collaboration in the short term.

    How does success look like?

Every single ADA holder is member of 5+ associations

Seriously – having a few 1000s of us forming multiple, authentic, targeted groups :)

    Key Metrics to measure

    – Number of proposals and teams willing to manage an association

    – Number of people registering/engaging with a association

    – Community engagement with proposers and the org. they create.

    – Future proposals, initiatives and activity facilitated by winning proposals.

    Challenge brief

    Let’s coalesce!

As Cardano grows we should be discovering ways to self organize as a community.

A good first step imo would be to give people a way become representatives and members of community groups, focused on specific topics.

This challenge is mainly about giving people the opportunity to step forward as individuals and groups, and offer themselves as coordinators and hubs for the Cardano community, each according to their creed and focus.

(One (inviting) option for the community to start registering as recognizable (and legal) entities would be through associations which are run by a managing board that is elected by that group’s general assembly.

But even if people choose more centralized organizations, this would still be useful, as a minimal level of trust would have to be established for people to register with someone’s organization, and adhere to their policies.)

In the challenge proposers would propose to establish a specific group, with its agenda and properties, and the community will vote for the ones we are interested in.

These associations/coalitions/guilds/NPO/NGO/something else could have different properties –

    • Centered around different topics – Geographical, professional, political, subject matter, agenda, etc.
    • Different membership requirements.
    • Different management styles and governance mechanisms.

(An optional addition is a second round where people who register as members can also “register” themselves via ideascale/voting app, so we’ll know at least the size/popularity of each winning proposal. )

    • This challenge could serve as foundation for the expert class, and various institutions for sub-communities, and can be evolved as we progress.
    • It could be an opportunity to experiment with constitutions and novel org. structures like Holocracy or others.
    • Down the road I expect the system to become more decentralized and automatic, but we should not be tardy forming more traditional collaborations.

For the design of the challenge I would ask –

How can we encourage our community to congregate in different forums that are most –

    • Inclusive?
    • Fruitful?
    • Collaborative, open, and transparent?
